Exporting data from items on the Clipboard

You can export the data of folders or documents on the Clipboard in one operation. This is similar to, but faster than, exporting the data of the items one at a time as described in Exporting properties and files. This can be useful to edit the data in other applications and then import it back into Kronodoc.

Note    This functionality is available by default for Privileged users and is configurable for other users.

Note Kronodocexports the data from all of the items to a single compressed archive (.zip) file. The .zip file includes .csv and .xls files that contains the property values of all the exported documents and folders. The .csv file is exported with the ISO 8859, Latin character set to ensure compatibility with Microsoft Excel.

To export the data of items on the Clipboard:

  1. Add the items to the Clipboard that you want to change as described in Adding items to the Clipboard.
  2. View the items on the Clipboard as described in Viewing the Clipboard contents.
  3. On the ribbon, in the Import/Export group, click Formatted Export. A page showing the export options appears.

  4. Click options or type values using the descriptions in the following table.
Export mapping options
Option Description

Mapping

Select a mapping template from the list.

Filename

Type a name for the .zip, .csv, and .xls files.

Lock documents for editing

Locks the documents against editing by others so that you can edit the exported data and import it back into Kronodoc.

  1. Click Export Excel. The .zip file downloads to your computer.

Note    Your web browser will attempt to download the archive file to your computer. If your browser's security settings block the download, you might need to adjust the settings and retry this procedure.

  2. Click Open to open the file immediately without saving it first or click Save to save the file for later viewing.
